The FEI CM120 Biotwin is a 120 kV transmission electron microscope primarily used for sample screening.  It has a 4k x 4k CCD camera and a cryo stage.  It is currently equipped with a tungsten filament and has a resolution of about ~3.4Å.

  • TVIPS TemCam- F415MP slow scan bottom-mounted CCD camera with multi-port readout
  • 4k x 4k pixels : 15µm pixel size : 61mm x 61mm field of view
  • Tietz EM-MENU 3 or EM-MENU 4 software for external PC control of microscope
  • Low dose imaging mode
  • Cryo stage (liquid nitrogen-cooled cryo blades)
  • Compustage (computer controlled goniometer allowing +/- 70 degrees tilt)
  • Bright and dark field and diffraction modes
  • Tungsten filament e– source
  • Magnification 18x – 330,000x
  • Resolution ~3.4Å point to point ~2.0 Å lattice image
  • Focal length 6.15 mm
