Changing the LN2 Tank for the Titan

Changing the LN2 Tank for the Titan

  • Close the filling valve (blue knob) and the vent valve (grey knob)
  • Disconnect the vent line (clear plastic hose)
    • The fitting at the end of the vent valve can slide inwards (~ 1/2 inch).  To remove the vent hose, push the end of the hose fitting inwards (towards the center of the tank) and gently pull on the hose; it should slide out with relative ease (DO NOT YANK!).
  •
  • Disconnect the filling hose (braided metal hose)
    • Use a 7/8th inch open-ended wrench to loosen the hose fitting. Once the fitting is broken loose, unscrew entirely.
  •
  • Move the empty tank aside and (carefully) maneuver the full tank into position
    • NOTE:  When the tank is empty, it is best to use the side handle to move it around; pushing from the top can tip the tank over.
  •
  • Connect the vent line
    • Slide the vent valve fitting inwards and firmly slide in the vent hose. Sometimes the vent hose will not seat correctly. Make sure the vent hose is COMPLETELY seated in the vent valve fitting. (If the line is not seated correctly, it will leak. Retry until the hose is seated correctly).
    • To test if the hose is seated correctly, gently pull on the hose. It should not slide back and forth. If it does, slide the fitting towards the center of the tank and push a little harder on the hose until it fully seats.
  •
  • Connect the filling hose (metal braded hose)
    • Connect the filling hose and seat the fitting on the valve so that it is not cross-threaded. To avoid potential cross threading, use your hand to start it.
    • Secure the fitting using the 7/8th inch open-ended wrench. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. (Use the wrench to ‘snug’ the fitting closed)
  •
  • Open the vent valve (grey knob) and then open the filling valve (blue knob). Listen for hissing sounds, which would indicate a leak. If there is a hissing noise, the most likely source is the vent hose. Do not leave the hose leaking; it will drop tank pressure too low to fill the Titan with LN2 in addition to emptying the tank over time.
